UCC LADY GOLFERS SUPPORT LOCAL ORGANISATIONS

As a follow-up to the Charity Day held in May, Umhlali Country Club Ladies Golf Section members turned out in force this week to welcome representatives of the two local organisations chosen to benefit from the proceeds.  UCC Ladies Golf Captain, Helen Yeo, again thanked all sponsors, donors and players who had supported the Charity Day so generously and contributed to its success.

On behalf of the UCC lady golfers, Committee Members, Jean Hannah and Sonia Parry, were pleased to present donations to Umuzi Wethemba kwaJesu, represented by Funding Officer, Shannon Heine, and to Jaimé Ernst and Guy Bower from the Ballito Cancer Support Network.

CLOSE RESULT FOR UCC LADIES!

The annual challenge match between the Ladies Golf Sections of Zimbali and Umhlali Country Clubs took place at Umhlali on Thursday 24th June.  Always a festive and competitive occasion, this year’s match had 18 ladies on each team playing better-ball Stableford and resulted in the closest possible result.  Umhlali regained the trophy with total team points of 358 against Zimbali’s 357!    The winning Zimbali better-ball pair were Brigitte Starr and Corinne Richards with 44 points and Jean Hannah and Wendy Attwood-Smith were winners on the Umhlali side, also with 44 points.
