About Us

History:

In 1961 Umhlali Country Club was established as a 9 hole course, some years later and under the skillful hand of Peter Matkovich, the course was redesigned and a 2nd nine holes were added.

Since 2006 both the course and the club have been totally transformed by a very successful facelift (still under Peters’ watchful eye) and the results speak for themselves.

Umhlali Country Club Staff:

General Manager Barry Woods heads up the club and staff compliment. Duard Nel is our Golf Manager and is assisted by Richard Woolfe and Jock Campbell in the bookings office. Kobus Pieters manages our exciting new pro shop

Glynis Hunter is in charge of the promotions and marketing and will assist you with functions and conferences. Michelle Whittoft and Hazel Van Niekerk run the accounts department. Roy Gounden and his team in the bar are standing by with frosty ales.

Greenkeeper Robin Naicker and his team keep the course and surroundings in showroom condition. Shirean Theron is at our reception desk and will also assist you with membership applications.
